Private instruction is offered by our staff of professional musicians and educators. We offer instruction in: Violin, Viola, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Drums, Percussion, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano, Banjo, and Voice. Our current lesson rate is $17.00 per 1/2 hour.

Rick Britto, Piano

Rick Britto has BA degree in music from the Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA. He is a faculty member at UMASS Dartmouth, and Wheaton College in Norton, MA. Rick owns a recording studio, "Saurus Studio," where he has produced numerous commercials for radio and television and recordings for many local artists. As a performer and arranger for the Boston based vocal jazz group "One O'clock Jump," he's been double billed with such notables as Buddy Rich, Ray Brown, Rosemary Clooney, The Artie Shaw Band, and The Count Basie Orchestra. Rick has also performed throughout New England with many local artists including, Semenya McCord, Jim Robitaille, Al Defino, John Harrison, Dave Zinno, Herb King, Matt Richard, Kenny Wenzel, Lou Columbo, Paul Delnero, John Wallace, Alon Yavnai, and numerous other performers.

Jack Gomes, Trumpet

Jack Gomes has studied at Berklee College of Music and holds a Bachelor of Music degree from UMASS Dartmouth. He has extensive performance credits, including dates with The Tommy Dorsey Band, Tavares, and the US Air Force Band of the East, as well as recordings with New Kids on the Block. Jack is active in the jazz and club circuit throughout New England as soloist, leader, & sideman. He is currently the instrumental/general music teacher for Berkley (MA) Community Schools.

Tom Short, Clarinet, Flute, Saxophone

Tom Short holds a Flute Performance degree from the University of Michigan/Flint. He has performed as leader/sideman with a wide variety of groups encompassing many styles of music. Tom is currently performing throughout southern New England with the dance/improv group The Dancing Dogs. Tom continues his studies with Diamond Centofante.

Jim Robitaille, Guitar

Guitarist and composer Jim Robitaille has studied guitar and improvisation with Jon Damian at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Workshops and master classes have included artists Dave Liebman, Bob Brookmeyer, Jimmy Heath, and Brazilian composer/educator Antonio Adolpho. Jim has performed throughout New England and St. John (U.S.V.I.) as a sideman and a leader with artists such as Greg Abate, John Harrison, Jim Odgren, Matt Gordy, Kenny Wenzel, John Lockwood, John Allmark, Lello Molinari, Alon Yavnai, Fernando Huergo, Alain Maillet, and Bobby Green and Coleus. Jim specializes in jazz guitar, improvisation and composition.

Neil Sylvia, Drums

Neil Sylvia is president of Sylvia Syncopations - an educational resource for music organizations, which provides customized percussion arrangements and compositions, group lessons, clinics, and seminars. He is an adjudicator for Drum Corps International, Drum Corps Associates, Massachusetts Judges Association, and Massachusetts Instrumental Conductors Association. Mr. Sylvia is currently the Percussion Coordinator at Westport Academy High School, Westport, MA. He has works and articles published in Percussive Notes, The Rudimental Percussionist, The International Rudimental Percussionists Solo Book, and Drum Corps World.

Patrice Tiedemann, Voice & Flute

Ms. Tiedemann has a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Rhode Island College, and a Master's Degree in Vocal Performance from Indiana University. She has performed professionally as a flutist with numerous theater and symphony orchestras. As a classically trained soprano, her resume includes performances with the Indianapolis Opera, Central City Opera, Cape Cod Concert Opera, and many recitals and church functions.
