Private instruction is offered by our staff of professional musicians and educators. We offer instruction in: Violin, Viola, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Drums, Percussion, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano, Banjo, and Voice. Our current lesson rate is $17.00 per 1/2 hour.

Jack Gomes, Trumpet

Jack Gomes has studied at Berklee College of Music and holds a Bachelor of Music degree from UMASS Dartmouth. He has extensive performance credits, including dates with The Tommy Dorsey Band, Tavares, and the US Air Force Band of the East, as well as recordings with New Kids on the Block. Jack is active in the jazz and club circuit throughout New England as soloist, leader, & sideman. He is currently the instrumental/general music teacher for Berkley (MA) Community Schools.

Tom Short, Clarinet, Flute, Saxophone

Tom Short holds a Flute Performance degree from the University of Michigan/Flint. He has performed as leader/sideman with a wide variety of groups encompassing many styles of music. Tom is currently performing throughout southern New England with the dance/improv group The Dancing Dogs. Tom continues his studies with Diamond Centofante.

Matt Richard, Piano

Matt studied classical piano with the late Ken Manzer and jazz piano with Dr. Billy Taylor. Workshops and performance master classes included jazz legends Max Roach, Marian McPartland, and Michael Brecker. He has performed throughout the New England area for the past thirty years as a soloist, an accompanist, and with many different ensembles, including jazz vocal legend Sheila Jordan, Dick Johnson and The Artie Shaw Orchestra, Bombay Jim Porcella, and Lou Columbo.

Neil Sylvia, Drums

Neil Sylvia is president of Sylvia Syncopations - an educational resource for music organizations, which provides customized percussion arrangements and compositions, group lessons, clinics, and seminars. He is an adjudicator for Drum Corps International, Drum Corps Associates, Massachusetts Judges Association, and Massachusetts Instrumental Conductors Association. Mr. Sylvia is currently the Percussion Coordinator at Westport Academy High School, Westport, MA. He has works and articles published in Percussive Notes, The Rudimental Percussionist, The International Rudimental Percussionists Solo Book, and Drum Corps World.

Patrice Tiedemann, Voice & Flute

Ms. Tiedemann has a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Rhode Island College, and a Master's Degree in Vocal Performance from Indiana University. She has performed professionally as a flutist with numerous theater and symphony orchestras. As a classically trained soprano, her resume includes performances with the Indianapolis Opera, Central City Opera, Cape Cod Concert Opera, and many recitals and church functions.
