The SouthCoast Youth Jazz Orchestra debuts at summer concerts!

The Southcoast Youth "Festival" Jazz Orchestra is sponsored by The Symphony Music Shop and directed by Mr. Stanley Ellis (former director of the award-winning Old Rochester Regional High School Jazz ensembles).
The SYJO opened for Jazz vocalist Semenya McCord and her group at the New Bedford Whaling Museum as part of AHA New Bedford on Aug. 13, 2009. The youth orchestra also performed at Shipyard Park in Mattapoisett on Aug. 15, 2009, opening for the newly formed Southcoast Jazz Orchestra. (The Southcoast Jazz Orchestra is comprised of local music educators and area professional musicians. New to the southeastern MA scene, the group performs Big Band favorites from classic standards to modern contemporary Jazz orchestra literature).

The Symphony Music Shop is located in beautiful North Dartmouth, MA, with easy on and off access from Routes 195 and 140.
From points EAST: Take Route 195 West to Route 140 South to New Bedford. Proceed to State Road (Route 6) and merge right. The Symphony Music Shop is 1/2 mile up on the right.
From points EAST: Take Route 195 East and follow the above directions.
